Hello folks.
I use a Kenwood TS2000 that, as do many rigs, has a built-in antenna tuner.
I also have a MFJ external transmatch which I adjust for 0 swr, wanting to
present a perfect match to the tranceiver. Even though, in menus 26 & 27, I
have both set to off, the defaults, I notice that, despite a 1 to 1 s w r
ratio, my output power is sometimes reduced by half, I having discovered
this due to my internal antenna tuner still in line. If I activate this
tuner, I am able to bring my output power up to normal levels. Does anyone
know if there is a way to entirely bypass the internal tuner, both for
receive and for transmit?
Thanks.
