Hello Mike:
I have an Ameritron AL-80B which I have used for over a year.
I really like it very much and would recommend it to you.
I am also blind and tune it by a tone method.
I can tune it very quickly and right on the money every time.
It uses a single 3-500 tube and runs a good KW out.
