Mac OS 9 (version 9.2.2) - The simple, intuitive user interface has been
designed specifically for the Macintosh with features like the floating
Kurzweil 3000 Reader and Starting Points that provide users with immediate
access to the most frequently used features of the product.
Powerful Study Skills Tools - Students can improve their reading
comprehension and retention with tools that facilitate active reading
including highlighting, sticky notes, text notes, footnotes and extraction
of outlines or word lists. Using the same tools, teachers can personalize
instruction to suit student needs and learning styles.
Quick Access to Reference Tools - One-click access via the Lookup feature to
word supports, including recursive dictionary, synonyms, syllables and spell
word, helps students with decoding and keeps them reading with better
understanding of words and their meanings.
Unique Test Taking Capabilities - Students can independently complete
worksheets, quizzes, classroom exams or standardized tests with
fill-in-the-blanks, multiple choice, true/false, short answer and essay
questions. Teachers can allow the use of selected writing tools,
comprehension aids and visual modifications, when appropriate.
Flexible Writing Tools - The new check-spelling-while-typing feature and the
redesigned fully integrated audible spell checker will assist students with
independently modifying and creating projects, worksheets and papers without
teacher intervention.
Access to Electronic Files - Kurzweil 3000 for Macintosh Version 2 opens and
works with many types of electronic files, including: AppleWorks,
ClarisWorks, MS Word, RTF and PDF files. Mac OS X users can also work with
files by opening them in their native application and printing them directly
to Kurzweil 3000 as image files. Kurzweil 3000 for Macintosh shares files
with Kurzweil 3000 for Windows, so educators can easily extend a school's
library of electronic books and documents in Kurzweil Educational's
accessible format.
Kurzweil 3000 for Macintosh Version 2 Promotion
Through December 15, 2003, Kurzweil Educational Systems is offering a new
product promotion for Kurzweil 3000 for Macintosh Version 2. Customers
purchasing a Kurzweil 3000 for Macintosh Lab Pack will receive one free Read
