Hi, the last time this happened to me, it was because the battery had died
and lost the settings in the bios.
Try starting the pc and entering the bios to see if the hard drive is being
detected. (should be on the first screen).
Make sure it's set to auto and save the settings.
If this works, you will know the battery on the motherboard needs replacing.
The drive should be recognised until the computer is turned off again and
then the same will probably happen until the battery is changed.
This is the most obvious reason for what has happened, but it may be
something different. I like to go for the obvious things first.
