This is good advice also, and some of what Donald is asking may simply be a
matter of oppinion.

I will say, though, that people with Icoms (especially the older Icoms)
haven't had much luck with the Heil gold line mics because the Icoms are
lacking some sort of pre-amp circuit that makes the Heil mics sound so good.

My understanding is that Heil Sound designed the ICM mic to compensate for
this problem with Icoms, and that's why the ICM mics sound so good.

Again, though, this all may be a matter of personal preference.
