Ad-Aware isn't a firewall program, it's to get rid of spy ware, if you have
a linksys router, as far as a firewall goes, you're in great shape out of
the box, you can make it better if you really read and understand the manual
for it, but those routers have a hardware firewall involved with them and
honestly, that's the best way to go, you shouldn't need anything else
though if you want to, you can put something on the computers, I don't have
any recommendations, how ever, with my router, it can run zone alarm pro
from the router even and you won't even know it's there but the stock
firewall in the router is more then sufficient, if you have it out of the
box with out messing with any settings, no one can even see your computers
from outside your home network, I've actually tried to hack in to mine and
have a good friend who can do it, he doesn't, but he works on computers in
security and stuff and I had him try and he couldn't do it and says so far
he can't find a way around a linksys router unless some one changes stuff
and opens it up. If you have wireless stuff on the network, there are codes
you can use, that's about the only weakness but if you put the incription
codes in there, you're fine especially if it's set not to broadcast the
code, what's what I did but my wireless is junk anyway, we can barely use it
outside 10 feet away form the house anyway and I had to do a lot of moving
and rewiring and stuff to get it that good.
