Hello Mark; from my limited experience, my "transition" phase included
both high and low energy levels. However, an upset digestive system
should not be a part of this process, and it is likely to have been a
result of a "bad" meal (this could in turn mean anything from a poor
combining of the foods you ate, to overeating; the latter being the most
likely IMO).
I overeat sometimes now (it is easy to do with sprouts, really) and I
usually suffer the consequences for the following day or two (anything
from lack of energy and fatique to bowel problems).
With regard to drinking, I don't recall having a glass of anything other
than fresh juice in many months (any water *I* can buy is more likely to
be more of a burden to my system than of a good thing, so I prefer to
stay away); have a fruit if you can't drink the fresh juice (melon's good).
I'm not sure what you drink or whether it's a problem, but I think fresh
juices would be much more suited for you especially, but for anyone who
might be thirsty as well. It also may be worth mentioning that a good
many people who eat mostly raw really have no need to drink per se; I
think one gets more than enough water from these diets.
