I have a Gateway P4 1.7ghz running Win XP Home SP1. For quite
some time now I have not been able to shut down my pc using the START button
menu. The pc just reboots after the 'shut down' screen. Is it possible to
fix this by rebuilding the Master Boot Record, and if so, how do I go about
doing it. Or is there another fix besides reformatting and reloading the OS.

Thanks,

Rod K. Nickas
