I read this article. And yes they showed that a larger portion of the cooked
egg protein was digested. However just because it is more digestible does
not mean it is better for us. I'm not saying that is it or isn't. I'm just
saying that one does not prove the other.

I also noticed that this study involved only 5 people all of whom had an
ileostomy. This is a surgical procedure that is used to treat severe cases
of Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis and a few others. Since these 5
people had a digestive tract problem severe enough to justify an ileostomy,
they may very well have also had other intestinal tract problems that
affected their absorption of egg protein.

This kind of study would be far more reliable as a reference source if the
study had involved a much larger population with a better representative
mix.

I did a quick preview of the included and excluded foods list on the
scdiet.org site. It would appear that the SDC excluded foods list is a
subset of the paleo excluded foods list.

At this point I think it is important to stress that the reason it is called
the Paleolithic diet and not the "Exclude bad lectins diet" or the "Improve
your enzymes diet" or the "Control intestinal bacteria diet" is because the
Paleolithic diet is about eating only food that where available 40 thousand
years ago. There are many possible reasons why certain foods are good/bad
for us, but these reasons are irrelevant to a Paleolithic diet. The reason
we as Paleolithic eaters choose such a diet is because we are trying to
limit are food intake to only those foods which we have evolved to eat. We
have not sufficiently adapted to recently (last 40k years) added foods such
that those foods are actually advantageous for us.
