Hmm... I wonder if people on a low-carb intake still get SAD. I used to
get very depressed during the winter, but I started low-carb in January and
never had that problem this year. In other words, if that's the case, then
the Eskimos wouldn't have that problem.

Before I get flamed out of here, I do not mean to imply that eskimos are a
bunch of depressed people. You do not need to be depressed to crave carbs.
On the other hand, some people, when they are deprived of sunlight for long
periods, get a disorder called Seasonal Affected Disorder (SAD). This
causes symptoms of depression. I wonder if this is not some survival
advantage mechanism to get the body to increase the energy intake to
protect
against the cold? (Wild speculation.... Again)
