Hi, Dave

This new mailing list developed out of discussions on the uvip
(usability for visually impaired people) mailing list. One problem with
the other lists that you mention is that they also cover many other
issues unrelated to how web pages can be tested by visually impaired
users. Most web page developers are not interested in joining more
general lists like wai ig, the EASI list, the blind-l list, etc. An
idea is to get the focus off just the perspective of visually impaired
people and expand it to include the perspective of the web page
developers and the interactions between the two groups.
