Along with C reactive protein (CRP) and homocysteine you could get one or
more of the following hormone tests:

free testosterone
total testosterone
DHEA-S
IGF-1
estradiol

Your levels can then be compared to the general population of young healthy
men. It is not uncommon for men in middle age or later to see an unhealthy
drop in one or more of the first four parameters when compared the levels
seen in young men. Often these changes are accompanied by an increase in the
last parameter (estradiol is a form of estrogen, normally considered a
female hormone). These age-related changes are associated with many of the
signs of aging, including increased body-fat, lower energy levels, reduced
libido, reduced intellectual capacity, and depression.

DHEA is a precursor to sex hormones including testosterone. It is the
easiest to correct, as DHEA is an inexpensive over-the-counter supplement
which can be taken orally. The other hormones can be adjusted with
prescription creams, injections, or patches.
