I used to think this way too, that we're just wired differently.  I used
to get upset when ADD was called a "disorder of the brain," when it was
really simply a biochemical difference.

But I no longer believe that.  I'm convinced now that it's an autoimmune
condition caused by the body's mistaken attack on the myelin protein
covering of the nerves of the brain.  It's very, very similar in that
sense to Multiple Sclerosis.

So there were no ADD hunter gatherers since we hadn't yet begun to eat
grains.
