how i understand it :
Mucus are naturally produced in tissues exposed to the outside world in
mouth, nose , guts , eyes etc... in an healthy body those mucuses are just
lubricant and almost imperceptible . IN the conditions when organs in charge
of elimination are overwhelmed , the body take the opportunity of those
secretions to expulse what that have not been metabolised properly , the
secretions become exacerbated and so abondant that possibly it create
diseases like asthma , othorhinolaryngo infections etc... inflamation of
the tissues who secret thoses mucus is a way to speed up the metabolisme and
exchanges .
