your choice of 'expert' could do with a wash of Seek_The_Truth_For_Thyself.

Protein foods stimulate both glucagon and insulin.  The latter shifts
glucose from the blood into cells, and the former shifts glucose from the
liver into the blood.

Net result: stable blood sugar.

"Dr" Jenny Brand-Miller once e-mailed to me in a private exchange that high
carbohydrate meals still produce less blood sugar swings than high protein
meals.  Ho Ho Ho. Bit like, Where are the WMDs???
