Almost everyone I know who's sent a Kenwood radio to the east coast has had
more problems usually when they got it back though once in a while it will
wait,  you can try a reset and all, but I'm afraid you might have to send it
out again,  west coast is the real Kenwood.  Also, if the vox is still on,
when you hit the button on the side of the radio, the moni button, it will
trip the vox, but if you turned that off,  I don't know, not the first time
I've heard of problems after a radio came back form the east coast one.  1
person I know went through that 5 times.
