I certainly wasn't discrediting Icomm and Kenwood for
making there equipment accessible on the contrary,
they should be commended. After all, I'm an older
Kenwood user. However, I think that HRD will open up
more rigs as versions come off the compiler! <HI>

Yes Yaesu has had an arrogant aproach to the blind ham
community but so has Tentec the last few years, after
they discontinued the production of there
voice board, unless you could have afforded the
$2599US base price for the Omni VI+ when it first came
out. Even then the voice board was a $118US option.
Tentec however, did make an effort by shifting to a
comp based control system but it still required some
work, probably a big reason why the Pegasus has been
scrapt from there product line.
Alot of the arrogance is the result of good product
development an sales.

If I earn a salary of $35000 then its highly unlikely
that a rep from Lamborghini or Portia will honestly
take me seriously if I'm in looking and expressing
interest in one of there most expensive models.
However, if I'm interested in one of the Portia low
ends like the Boxter,
then I'll be taken more seriously.
Its all about supply and demand! <HI>
