I just got my TH-F6A! What a nice compact little rig...Melanie says
it's too small and she thinks the buttons are too jammed together and
tiny, but it's no smaller keypad-wise than, say, the old FT-11. I like
their joystick implementation better than that on the T81, too.

So far, seems easy enough to operate. First thing I did though was to
get rid of the call channel and replace it with 1750-hz tone burst for
European repeaters...mostly because I could, partly because I never
use the dedicated call channel memories anyway. I ws able to set the
PL tone for a local repeater, got the A and B receivers figured out I
think, a bunch of stuff...I like the radio a lot, so far.

One question though about programming memories. The manual says to
press the function key, then dial up to the memory you want to program
(no direct access for writing memories, very like the
FT-470/530/51). Is there a beep at memory 1 or some reference point so
that one knows where one is in the memory structure? Or can one, say,
program the first memory, then when you press function it defaults to
the next available, or what? The manual isn't clear on this point.
