Yeah, to start with, on an FRS rig, the antenna has to be integrated in to
the unit, and I think the th-f6a puts out too much power, think 5 watts is
too much to legally run on frs. I wonder if possible, a mod to make my old
icom base/mobile rig transmit on 440 would be legal, since 440 is a legal
amateur band. If I get it hooked up again, I want to use uhf on it as well
as 2 meters. At the time I got it, about 10 years ago almost, uhf seemed
dead, but now there's lots of it for some reason.
