Hey Michael,

this is exactly what I did 20 years ago at my current location.  I had a tower about 30 feet from a stream and about 8 feet below the base of the tower.  I did not  ground the tower specifically but this was part of my station ground with a stake at the side of the house and another on the edge of the stream with large gage wire between the two.  While I did not have empirical evidence that it worked any better, but it did keep things happy.  hey the more you get buried and tied into your system the better is what I have heard and believe.  Happy antennaing.

, for me the shack has moved and is not nearly so well grounded.

Well I have decided on the Alpha Delta DX-A twin sloper.=20
This antenna has pre set dimensions, if needed, needed in my case, which =
would make it a perfect fit in my tower tree line situation.=20
I'm also going to install, not absolutely necessary unless the support =
structure doesn't offer the best grounding system, again, in my case, the =
optional ground lead to an RF ground source.=20
On the left hand side of my tower's natural platteau, about 20 feet down, =
is a stream. =20
Would this make a good ground source if I was to attach my antenna's =
ground lead to a proper ground rod and hammer it in the middle of the =
stream?=20
