Does anybody know how successful paleo people were at storage of food? I
would think that even the most primitive people living through the ice ages
would quickly develop methods to store things like berries and other fruits,
such as letting them dry, or by packing food in snow. Think about how other
animals, like squirrels, pack away food for the winter.

There was no refrigeration, but the ice age provided plenty of freezer
space.

This, I'm sure, would vary according to climate and culture.

> It seems to me, L, that the low Carb diets would be very much Paleo for
anywhere from 3 up to even 12 months of the year, depending upon the given
population's location. Paleo man didn't find apples, oranges, broccoli or
carrots to eat (let alone Papaya) in the dead of winter, and lacking
refrigeration, animal-based products were about the only thing
available--very Atkins!
