Hi Rich,

The best ht in the current crop of radios in my opinion the TH-F6A from
Kenwood. It covers two meters as well as
440 and the 222 band. The rig includes general coverage receive in fm,
wide/fm, usb, lsb, cw and am.
The radio puts out 4 watts on all
three bands and is extremely accessible. A blind person can select
frequency with a keypad, pl/dcs, memories, bands and other features. I have
had mine since October of 2001 and I love it. I'm even thinking of getting
a second as backup. I hope this helps.
