Tell your so-called friend to go boil his head. Of course there's a
need. You want to use older gear, therefore there is a need. So what,
if you can't afford newer gear, you shouldn't enjoy ham radio? So
what, if you feel like operating vintage gear, you shouldn't do it
because newer stuff is available? Apparently someone's forgotten
exactly what this ham radio thing's all about. (Sheesh...)
