I could see it if there was an overwelming amount of traffic on this list,
but if it weren't for this thread, all we would hear about was how to
program handhelds.  Now, there's nothing wrong with talking about how to
program handhelds, but  the marriage between computers and ham radio is here
to stay, and I don't think that the typical daily traffic volume on this
list warrents spinning off another list at this time.
