>From the latest issue of "Tropical Fruit News" magazine (vol. 34, #11,
>November 2000): an article by Maurice R. Kong, "Vietnam, Gem of the
>Orient," pp. 10-12. Maurice writes about jakfruit he found in Vietnam; from p. 12:

"Another surprise were some very small jakfruits (Artocarpus
heterophyllus)
about the size of your two closed fists, a size I have never seen
before.
The flavor was quite good and sweet, but lacked that crunchy texture
that I am accustomed to eating in a jakfruit. Nevertheless, its
size, I thought, might be perfect for the American market. I later
found out that Malaysia also has a similar size jakfruit. We brought
back [to South Florida] some seeds to germinate."
