Yes it is strange. The UN wanted 6 months with a team of 40-50 inspectors,
the US military have 100,000+ personnel yet have not found them in 3 weeks,
despite:-

Not being "minded" by whole teams of Baarthists.

Having access to much hyped "intelligence" which could not be revealed to
inspectors for fear of compromising sources.

The opportunity of "interviewing" scientists known to have worked in weapons
facilities 12 years ago without the pressure of knowing that if they "spilled
the beans" their families would be slaughtered.

The opportunity to negotiate with those of the famous 55 they already hold
offering immunity to any who cooperate.

We are talking aaabout a country the size of California, a country with vast
swathes of desert, ideal for satellite surveillance. If Saddam ever intended
to use WMD they would have to be somewhere accessible to the military, not
buried in some god forsaken hole somewhere.

Maybe some litres of mustard gas may be found someday but I bet the
manufacture date is over 12 years ago.

What gets my goat is that the US/UK politicians must think we are all really
stupid enough to believe the spin they feed us, and what's even sadder is the
number of people who do.

And Ken tnis is not "spouting rhetoric", its simply stating the obvious,
Neither am I a "liberal democrat" (lapsed nihilist remember). I always
appreciate Mags' political views, they always betray her intelligence and
compassion.

Cheers

Deri
