I have the 690 and also a 2000. I figured I'd hang on to the 690 for now.
The one big step backward from the 440 I think Kenwood took on the 690 ws
you couldn't keyboard access a memory like you could on the 440. You have
to use the select knob.
If any one's is off frequency, I can tell you how to adjust it. It is
simple, particularly if you have something else to receive wwv.
