Glad to know you are going to hang onto the THF6A.  It is the most
user-friendly HT I have ever found, and I wouldn't trade mine for anything.

As for the battery issue, I'm going to check into batteriesamerica about a
replacement lythium ion battery and maybe the drop-in charger.

Do you know how long the drop-in charger takes to charge the lythium ion
battery in comparison with the wall charger?

Like you, I have found the Maha MHC777+ to be good for nicads and NIMH
batteries, but not necessarily for the lythium type, which is a bummer since
that's why I purchased the charger in the first place.

Oh well, them's the breaks, eh!
