You are spelling it correctly but I need to warn you of a bane of
writers writing for dumb readers... you should NEVER expect anything but
grief for using words they might have to strain themselves to look up in
a dictionary. I often get comments, from people who think that they want
to be writers, that I should not have used a particular word in a short
story (and I'm not talking long Latinate hoity words either but such
elementals like "dork") because they did not know what the word meant.
