I'll give you a definite maybe. As with all electrical devices, they are
created and rated according to safe, acceptable limits. If you were using
1.8 or 1.7 volts, I would say the processor would not be harmed at all.
However, anything over the rated voltage has the "potential" to cause harm.
On the other hand, even the rated voltage has potential to cause harm if
there is a manufacturing defect.
Unfortunately, there is no clear-cut answer to your question, and you'll
likely get as many opinions as people reading this. The legalistic, save
the warranty side of me says "Don't do it". The rebellious, need for speed
side of me says "Go for it... lets see how long this baby lasts". The
practical side of me says "Do so at your own risk". In the end, I'll go for
the practical answer. If you stick with running it a 2.0v and it burns up,
go to Ebay and get another one (maybe even a faster one rated for 2.0v this
time) for $15 or so.
