Hi,
I just wanted to complain. I don´t write very often, there´s a lot to do at
university. When I was 15 years old, I started to get pains in my hand, I
then found out that my arm was broken, I had to have 3 operations. Then I
started to get pains in my left knee, the doctors thought that it was
swollen, which it was. Then I had an x-ray and they found out that my
kneecap was broken in two. I had an operation and my kneecap was removed.
Then again, I have pains in my back and shoulder. I´m 34 years old now. I´m
about to give up sometimes, but I´m not going to let this disorder get the
better of me. The doctors have told me not to drive the wheelchair a lot
with my chin. I´m waiting for a new control system where I can control the
chair with my hand. They tell me to take painkillers, but what kind of
painkillers should I take, I´m an alcoholic and can´t take Ibuprofen or
Parcodine. Thanks for listening, I just needed to vent a little. I´m doing
well at university, I have 4 wonderful people who help at school. Then I
have nice people here at home as well, who help me as well. I love them all
very much. Guess what I call my disorder - the "catmonkey". This disorder
is called Dystonia. Now I´ve got to pack my laptop as I need it for school
tomorrow. It makes things a lot easier to have a laptop, it means that I
am able to get online while I'm at university.
Good night.
Ásdís Jenna.
