I just joined the list!  My name is Dan Fischer and have C.P.  I'm
currently
a student (senior) at the University of Minnesota obtaining a double
major --
Communication & Journalism.  I just had a lawyer fight with disability
services so that my petition so I could be exempted from a foreign
language
could go to the appropriate committee.  My petition did go through and
was
approve but need 4 additional non-english cultural classes (i.e. history
of
spanish, etc).  By this May, my majors will be complete.  I have decided
to
take 2 cultural classes in the fall and 2 in the spring due to several
issues
and perhaps I can find an internship since I won't be taking 3 - 5
classes.
I've been thinking about going for my masters and this summer and fall
will
allow myself to save money. I have been working for Target Corporation
since
August 1995 and have had other jobs as well (2 writing center positions
and
before 95' summer jobs through vocational outreach program for 9 - 12th
graders who were handicapped).  I use a manual wheelchair and forearm
crutches.  I also get Botox injections every few months.  I'm also power
of
attorney for my mother who has tougue cancer since last April.  It came
back
20 years later as she had radiation and minor surgery when she was
22---now
she's 45.  She's currently in 6 weeks of radiation.
