Hi Rich.
I'm a little surprised by the audio reports on the MC-50, as I always had
really good reports on the one that I had. Did you try switching the
impedance? That mic can be configured as either a high or low impedance
mic and I am wondering if it makes a difference on your audio reports.
I am presently using a Kenwood MC-60. It tends to favor higher pitched
voices, and mine is in the tenor range so it works well for me. Guys with
deeper voices have found the MC-60 to be unsatisfactory.
They are pricy, but the Heil mics have a pretty good reputation. Maybe you
would find something more to your liking there...
