Thanks Gary. That explains it. I really appreciate your effort to come up

Hi Kevin and all, below is a message from a friend of mine In Saskatoon.
Gary

Hi Gary, Your friend is correct, there is a Braille cell on the $5 bill and
2 Braille cells on the $10 bill. Rather than putting a Braille number to
signify the denomination of the bill, the Canadian mint chose to put a
single Braille cell on the $5 thinking it would stand up better. I only
know of the $5 & $10 bills with Braille cells on them and I think it has
been discontinued because the Braille does not stand up to use. I have seen
bills with the Braille cells on them and they are barely distinguishable
after a little while in circulation. Hope this helps, Judy

Kevin:

I believe that the canadian mint and banks are experimenting with this so
called braille on the $5 and $10. I personally never seen the $5. I have
had a $10 so you might want to make sure thats a 5 and not a 10. Me
personally, I think that passing that cell for number representation is an
insult. <Grin> at least they could have tried to come close to a 10 or 5.
