Hi Mary Ann and anyone else following this thread.
There is an VX-7R radio made by Yaesu.
It was released relatively recently.
It is very much similar to the Vx-5R in regard to available features etc.
The major difference between the two is that the VX-7R has some case
differences.
I gathered from some reading that the vx-7r can be submerged under water
for upto a half hour whereas the vx-5r doesn't have this ability.
I can't however speak to accessibility on this group of radios as I don't
own either.
Note however that I know of several blind folks who own vx-5R radios and
are quite happy with them.
