The Super Radio III is the newest model. I have a Super Radio II and keep
thinking about buying the III, but I'm so pleased with my little RS DX399
that I can hardly justify it, especially when what I really want is one of
the new whiz-bang scanner radios that are coming out later this year.

Subject: GE radios and Writelog contest logging
Hello all.
I have been having trouble with some of my e-mails to the list. They have
been going through as HTML files, which I realize are a pain to read. I
think I now have that problem fixed.
Anyway, I have two questions for the list, which hopefully will come through
better now:
1. What is the difference between the GE Super Radio II. and the Super
Radio III.? We actually found a GE Super III. on the internet. The price
was $41, which sounds kind of low to me. I currently have a GE Super II.,
and love it. Problem is that I have already replaced the dial cord in it
once, and the AC power supply is now going bad. I can't complain, though,
since I bought the Super II. in 1988 for $50.
2. Does anyone on the list use the Writelog Windows-based contest logging
program? I am trying to set it up on a Pentium 566 computer using Jaws 3.7
with Windows 98 Second edition? If anyone has used Writelog successfully,
and has some configurations or ideas about setting it up to work with Jaws,
please let me know. I also would like to put Writelog on my hamshack
computer, which is an older Pentium 133 using JFW 3.7 and Windows 98 SE, but
am not sure it will work on a machine that slow.
Thanks to everyone on the list for being patient with me as I get the list
up and running here. This is a truly valuable service that I appreciate.
