Subject: [PCBUILD] AC97 Audio or SB AudioPCI 64D

I'm afraid I'm not up to date on PC sound cards. I'm helping a friend
upgrade a Gateway Performance 500 P3-500 machine to a P4/1.8. We'll be
replacing the motherboard with an ECS L4S8A2 which comes with AC97 2.2
audio. We also have the option of disabling this onboard audio and using his
old Creative Sound Blaster AudioPCI 64D.
Which of these will give better performance? He does some gaming and DVD
playback with this system using 2 channel stereo.
thanks,
Steve
