Thanks Rob, Dave Jones and Mark Rode for suggestions about this.  In the
finish I decided to take Mark's advice and stick with the original WinME
supplied with the HP 6701.

As far as the work I needed to do, this was certainly the easy way out,
given that the HP recovery disks work so well.

Personally, I think the ME OS is irritating junk, but my customer is a new
user and probably won't notice the difference.
