This is a follow-up to a problem I posted some months back.
As an exercise mainly, I'd been trying to get W95 to run on a spare drive,
in my Athlon 2000+, 512Mb DDR system. I have a Trios drive selector, so I
can boot from any one of 3 hard drives. W98SE runs on one, ME and XP on
another, and I wanted to get W95 and Win 2K running on the third drive.
But when I'd finished programming the drive with W95, it failed to boot,
citing:
"While initializing device IOS: Windows protection error"

I followed the instructions and the workaround did the job - for what it's
worth I now have W95 running on an old Quantum drive in my 2000+, 512Mb DDR,
GEForce3 Ti-200 system.
