Hi,
I have been reading posts on this list for a few months. I am a little confused about something. Is it true that all I really need to do is read a label to make sure the food is gf? Or do I have to check with the manufacturer each and every time I want something new?
I ask because I know about cross-contamination issues with companies like Frito Lay. But what about "health food" companies - like Garden of Eatin' and Walnut Acres. I have been eating nachos once a week made with Garden of Eatin's blue corn chips and Walnut Acres organic refried black beans. I haven't contacted these companies because (1) the ingriedent list is okay and (2) I consider them more responsible companies because they are organic. Am I making a mistake? Should I contact each and every company?
Also, do I need to be careful of which corn tortillas I buy? I have seen posts on the list asking about which corn tortillas are gf. Can't I just read the ingredient list to discover this?
Thanks for your advice!
Lori
