I think people are taking tremendous risks eating supplements. I must
return to my analogy presented in my previous message on this topic to
illustrate it. The motor needs oil but that doesn't mean we can just pour
some oil into the tank. The same goes for gasoline. No, we must first
compound oil and gasoline in right proportions and then pour the result
into the tank. Now, consider one of the most popular supplements - vitamin
C. As you know, it is verified that a lack of it results in health problems
and finally death. So, body needs it, BUT, that doesn't imply it's just

fine to pour any amount of it into the tank. As you surely know, this
substance is involved in over 300 different biochemical reactions in the
body. We're no longer talking about one substance without another, i.e. oil
without gasoline. We're talkning about one substance without MANY others. I
guess the similar applies to all the other biochemical substances we need
as well, besides vitamin C.

Instead of eating a pill of vitamin C, I personally prefer an orange, even
if it contains only 1/20 of the amount in the pill. If I need more of this
vitamin, which I seldom do, I eat rose hips. I consider oranges and rose
hips and certain other whole foods as correctly mixed fuel from mother
nature that I can pour into my tank without the fear of my motor crashing
sooner or later. :)

Feel free to correct me!
