This allows the card to Emulate a SB 16 so it will work in DOS. Some people
still play DOS games and need this.

The SB 16 Emulation will give you SB 16 sound for DOS
programs running in a DOS box or in DOS Emulation mode.
 There are so few DOS apps that need sound that most folks
disable it and avoid all these headaches with IRQ's.
