A poster asked for help with sound fading in and out when he used WinAmp
to listen to computer radio. He did not say if he was using a dial-up
modem.
I have that problem with dial-up modem, using WinAmp. I do not know if I
would have less fading in and out using another sound program.

I get much less fading in and out and broadcast disconnects using another
computer. Both computers have winmodems, both have Win98, and both were
using WinAmp, same broadcast. Is this because second computer's winmodem
is better than other?  I thought I installed better modem, Viking, in
first computer. Both modems have downloaded latest drivers.

Several on list have suggested hardware modems. Besides two in two
computers above, I have a boxed winmodem, and would be using winmodems,
as these are what I have. Should I be trying different winmodems, or
looking elsewhere to improve radio reception consistency in first
computer?
