IIRC weight loss is supposed to be promoted/enhanced because of the medium
chain triglycerides in coconut oil. Metabolizes differently and has some
kind of thermic effect. Would love to see if it would work for me but can't
seem to get past the taste, though I do cook with tiny amounts of it
occasionally. Also read somewhere (but with no explanation presented) that
people with heart rhythm disturbances shouldn't do MCTs/coconut oil.
