tom,  I am unfamiliar with i link but the IRLP is  designed to provide backbone linking for  simplex radios or repeaters in different locations via the internet.  It is not a PC to PC or PC to radio linking protocol like echolink is.  I  am inferring that I link may be such a protocol but not sure.

IRLP also is a Linux based system while eyelink is windows based.
