I've used the AT&T Global Dialer for years with no problem. This week I've
been having a problem making a connection getting DNS name server errors,
not connecting at all or connecting but sending/receiving very little data
and then getting disconnected. Upon calling for support they had me add a
string in the advance setting on the modem under Win95B. The string they had
me enter is: S38=0 -V90=0. Somehow that seemed to work as I can again make a
connection but only at very low speeds. i.e. 24.4 VS 44.8 that I previously
was getting. My question is what does the string that I entered do? Did it
reduce my connection speed? Curious and looking for a way to get back to the
higher connection.
Thanks,
Joe Trimarchi
