I started it as a weightloss program, after reading neanderthin by Ray
Audette. Once on it I found so many articles on the web regarding the
health benefits, that now I espouse it as a nutrition plan. I have
especially learned alot just from this group. As a midwife, it is very
interesting to me since it, according to some studies, seems to benefit
those women who are prone to pregnancy induced hypertension and
gestational diabetes. Now if I could only convince them all to change
to this plan, but alas, I am respectful of their choices of diet. Does
not stop me,though, from telling them of the benefits of a high protein
diet.
