I would be amusing to make a list of REALLY old paleo plants, those
that originated in Africa, so have been in the diet for millions,
rather than merely hundreds of thousands of years  ;-)

OK, watermelon is one I know.

Coconuts?

Peanuts (legume!) are another from Africa. Can they be eaten raw?
Sounds nasty...

Baboons eat a lot of roots they dig up, grass rhizomes I believe.
