When I switched doctors 18 months ago at my first check up she did
a blood tests that checked for many different things - which included
thyroid. I do not know if that is standard countrywide, but it was for
my doctor. The results of that test was that I have a hyper- thyroid.
From the reading, etc. that I have done thyroid problems are common
for Celiacs - now I won't say I did an extensive search - so if there
is another viewpoint it wouldn't be surprising. For me there were no
outward symptoms - although I have been told that high cholesteral,
flu like symptoms, and poor health can be signs to thyroid trouble.
So, take that for what its worth - for this is what I know. I will say
that all I have to do is take a small gf pill a day to handle this, and
wish that diabetes, and celiacs could be that simple to handle!
