>Piggly-Wiggly is a chain of grocery stores. Mostly midwest, I suppose.
I've only seen them in Wisconsin...but then I don't get out much.

The original Piggly-Wiggly is still in operation in downtown Memphis, TN
where it is a listed historic building bearing a plaque describing it as
"the world's first supermarket" (opened sometime in the 1920s). I saw it on
a visit to Memphis in 1992. I think the chain is headquartered in or near
Vidalia, GA. In the 80s its corporate jet pilot visited Professional Pilot
Magazine (where I then worked) and presented us with a gift of the freshest
Vidalia onions I have ever tasted.

Movie watchers may recall the mention of Piggly Wiggly in "O Brother, Where
Art Thou," set in Mississippi in 1937.
